aixa i am

born and raised in Miami, Florida - of Colombian parents and currently living in Los Angeles - bachelors in Anthropology from California State University, Northridge.

i paint how I feel, not what I want and with the ultimate goal of unraveling the root of the feeling, energy and angst bare bones and all; i create on canvas, recycled wood, or any surface that inspires with mostly acrylic, oil paints, and chalk combining all 3 at times.

every piece stands alone open for the viewer, to both interpret and connect with on a personal level - some abstracts are self titled, others reflecting imagery in conjunction with, and inspired by my manuscript titled …"I left it there, Aixa I am,"   a compilation of poetry stemming from tears, anger, the spirit, fear, chaos, words, pictures and all the beautiful things encompassing this sweet life... for in my experience, only in this vulnerable space, can we truly create.
